Odoo TrueCommerce integration, beyond the network
TrueCommerce carries the trading partner side for a large number of retailers. If your customer put you there, the documents are moving and the question is what happens once they reach your building.
What is usually left is the Odoo half: where the order lands, what your item numbers have to look like, and who builds the ship notice that goes back. This page is about that half.

What TrueCommerce does for you
TrueCommerce is a retail EDI network with a large catalogue of pre-configured trading partners. Your customer nominates it, and the mapping to that customer's guideline is maintained on their side.
The commercial shape is a subscription, usually with a per-document or per-partner component. What it buys is coverage and somebody else keeping the maps current when a retailer changes its parameters.

What is left on your side
A managed service ends at its own boundary
What it does not decide is how an order behaves once it is inside your Odoo.
The Odoo half, whichever route carries the document
Which fields the order lands on, what your item numbers have to look like, and what happens in your warehouse the morning a document arrives malformed.
The ship notice and the invoice, going the other way
A managed network delivers the order to you. Sending the notice and the invoice back is still somebody logging into a portal and typing what they think shipped. That is the direction the deduction codes come from, and no amount of managing the inbound half reaches it.
If somebody still keys them in, in both directions, that is the whole problem
Once into Odoo so the order can be picked and costed, and once back into the portal so the documents can go. The first feels like data entry. The second feels like a compliance chore, and it is the one that produces the codes.
Where to read the rest
The two routes are set out side by side on the home page, the documents are explained on the transaction codes page, and what a mistake costs is on the deductions page.
When you should not use us for this
If the managed service covers your document set
And your Odoo is close to standard, a third party adds complexity to a problem you have already paid somebody to solve.
If you are still choosing a network
The Odoo side has a cost whichever network you pick, and it is easier to establish before a contract than after. A network comparison that leaves it out is comparing two subscriptions and calling it a total.
